The Refugee Experience in Western Massachusetts: An Update

In August of 2021 Nazifa Hassan Safie and Safieullah Safie due to their involvement
in humanitarian activities and with United States agencies, as well as the brutal assassination of Nazifa's father--were forced to evacuate from their home in Afghanistan. They ultimately settled in Western Massachusetts.
In April 2022 they spoke to the World Affairs Council about their story. In this talk in 2025 they provided an update on their situation. Both are now working for Save the Children.
